Arrow Within My Heart the astrological anatomy of mind, body, spirit
Edit Note: Hiiii! Through my spiritual growth as I learn what that even means to me, and how tarot, astrology, numerology, chakras, mythology, iconography, energy work, etc all overlap together I’ve been able to make more and more connections about my self and how I operate in the world. I’ve found a lot of interesting connections in my birth chart, looking at how all the different placements, houses, and planets interact with each other creating my unique personality and life path. Diving deeper in these topics can help you understand that nature and nurture are intrinsic and one does not out weigh the other. (I use western tropical “new age” astrology and please know it’s important to understand what tools your using, how they came to be, what the origin was, and what other ways there are to analyze these more spiritual theories) See the end for my chart, how to calculate yours, and more discussion!
Arrow within my heart, never not guide me forward

All my life things have just kind of fallen into place, seeming always lucky. Which no doubt I am… lucky and privileged in many ways. This luck isn’t hitting the lottery or digging up gold. No, this luck is about survival and knowing when to pivot. How to always find a solution for the messes I’ve made. I’ve learned luck is the energy created by sheer will power. By knowing so concretely what your next move will be that you don’t hesitate when it manifests in front of you. As a Sagittarius rising I’m always under the jovial eye of Jupiter. Making sure two cans of fix a flat get me home safely or that I find the perfect couch on FaceBook Marketplace. Lately though I’ve realized Sagittarius is more than just day to day good fortune. In the past I may have confused it with a gut feeling or my intelligence as the force guiding my path. Yet, this part of me rules a much deeper piece of my destiny. And now I realize Jupiter is the centaur in my heart forever pointing my arrow forward.
This arrow in my heart is different from a gut feeling. No, there you’ll find Venus. While I love to indulge Venus, she’s deep in my womb. Under my soft belly safe, cozy, and nourished. To be completely in her energy requires vulnerability and delicateness. Picture soft fur (FAUX! *eye roll*) rugs, plush daybeds, thousands of lit candles, and me lying there naked surrounded my roses. Like the Taurus bull, she’s comfortable but alert to anything that can threaten her leisure. In my gut Venus can sense immediate danger, threats to our surroundings, or people with bad intentions. That girl knows when to leave a party.
And in my head, you’ll find Mercury. I often confused that quick and clever mind maiden1 with the arrow in my heart. Differently they are distinctly focused. Methodically organizing every option, thought, and scenario. Mercury uses logic to see ten steps ahead, what to do, how to get there, and analyze the datapoints of life. No they’re no arrow in my heart, in fact they’d like to get back to original point.

It wasn’t until the arrow went away that I realized it had been there all along. That I understood the difference between knowing what to do, feeling what to do, and seeing what to do. The melding of mind, body, spirit. I felt blind without that arrow. That feeling when I know what new portal is opening. That feeling I get with every place I’ve ever lived or job I’ve had or where I’ve gone to school. I knew in my heart they were already mine, knew my arrow pointed in their direction. Like the cat I knew was mine the second I walked in the shelter door and heard her purr. It’s almost as if the arrow launches on its own, casting itself out into the ether, honed on the target. With one end of a golden string knotted above the arrow’s fletching and the other end wrapped around my heart. I follow that pull blindly, sometimes for days, sometimes for years. Until finally I land on the target and hear the arrow sing, grateful I didn’t try to pull it back in.
The arrow is mighty and does not let me rest long. Almost as soon as I’ve caught up to it, he shoots again toward the next target. And on and on I go following the pull of destiny. Some find me mad and chide me for not always knowing the end goal. Look at me as though I’m a lost soul bouncing from one endeavor to the other. They underestimate luck, they underestimate my arrow. They underestimate how comfortable I am taking the scenic route, not afraid to make a pitstop knowing my arrow has brought me here for a reason, a season, and a lesson. It’s not luck, it’s trust.
I’ve decided my word for 2025 is Joy. How appropriate that I’ve never felt closer to Jupiter, never trusted my arrow more. I trust it will point me to joy. Venus brought me through the lessons of safety and compassion. Now is the time to learn the lesson of joy. Now is the time to trust the arrow within my heart.

Horoscope
I tend to just pay attention to monthly horoscope to see the overview of planetary movements for the month and how it could impact me personally. Note that if you are looking at horoscopes you should most likely be looking at your rising sign to match up planet movement in the correct house (which changes based on your rising/ascendant).
